Gaurav Patil
Dr. Gaurav Patil is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the Macquarie University under the mentorship of Prof Michael J. Richardson. Dr. Patil received his Master’s and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati where his research involved applying robotics and artificial intelligence techniques for healthcare and rehabilitation. His current research is focused on modelling the dynamics of cooperative and competitive human, multiagent task performance by using different computational, dynamical, and deep reinforcement and machine-learning based methods. He is particularly interested in analyzing complex human movement behaviors, developing artificial agents which can model such behaviors, and evaluating the effect of artificial agents on the dynamics of human-agent interactions. Dr. Patil has experience pursuing research in highly collaborative environments which includes Engineers (e.g., Biomedical, Electrical, Computer Science), Psychologists, and Nursing and Healthcare providers with research areas that span exoskeletons, robotic surgery, human movement sciences, telehealth technology, smart-home devices, and traffic management.
